Government employees in many parts of Iraq have been given a day off as temperatures soar above 50 degrees Celsius.
Due to the scorching heat, at least At least 10 provinces have suspended the work of most government employees, the BBC reported, citing the local press.
The heat wave in Iraq is not unusual, but residents say conditions are getting worse.
Also this year, powerful dust storms hit Iraq.
As noted, Iraq was recognized by the UN as one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change in the Middle East.
