 Christchurch Massacre: Killer Appeals Verdict

White supremacist Brenton Tarrant, who killed 51 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, has filed an appeal against his conviction.

According to the BBC, Tarrant filed an appeal against his case and sentence. Court officials say a hearing date has not yet been set.

Tarrant was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 2020 for the murder and attempted murder of Muslim believers.

PM New Zealand Minister Jacinda Ardern, when asked about Tarrant's appeal, said: “That name must not be repeated and I'm going to apply the same rule when commenting on his attempts to re-victimize people. We shouldn't give him anything.”

The Christchurch attack was the worst mass shooting in New Zealand history. The shooting prompted Parliament to pass stricter gun laws.
