 China's worst drought ever

< p>

In China, against the backdrop of abnormal heat, the strongest drought in history began. According to the Air Force, forecasters predict that the heat load in the country will not ease until the end of August. The drought has affected China's longest Yangtze River, which has become very shallow. Because of this, the ability of hydroelectric power plants to generate energy has decreased. In this regard, the authorities were forced to close many enterprises, reduce the opening hours of shops, and prohibit turning on air conditioners in offices. According to the Ministry of Water Resources of the PRC, the amount of precipitation in the Yangtze River basin was the lowest since the start of registration in 1961.
