China fined former NBA star for quarantine statement

Former NBA star Jeremy Lin, who plays for the Chinese team, has been fined 10,000 yuan for criticizing quarantine agencies.

This comes as China tries to stop protests against virus control, one of the strictest in the world, according to the Associated Press.

Lin, who plays for the Loong Lions basketball club, made “inappropriate remarks about hotel-related quarantine facilities” where the team was staying in front of game.

The Chinese Basketball Association said it “caused adverse effects on the league and competition area.” The association did not provide details of the athlete's comments.
