Chile will begin offering the fourth dose of coronavirus vaccine next week. This was announced by President Sebastian Piñera, Reuters reports.

Piñera said that from January 10, people with weakened immune systems will be able to receive the fourth vaccination against COVID-19.

& quot; Starting starting next Monday, January 10th, we are going to start a new mass vaccination process through the fourth or second revaccination '', & mdash; said Pinera.

Chile has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world. There, 85% of the population received two vaccinations against coronavirus. The President highlighted this success and noted that he did not intend to stop there.

“Chile's success in the vaccination process places us among the best countries in the world to fight this pandemic. And with this fourth dose, we strive to maintain this leadership position and protect the health and lives of our compatriots, ”the president said.

Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines will use vaccines for the fourth dose.

“The vaccines for the fourth dose will be a combination of the same shots used so far in Chile, including Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac and AstraZeneca,” Paris said.
