 Accusation: 12 residents of the south sold weapons via WhatsApp chat

On Monday, February 27, 12 residents of southern Israel were charged with illegal arms trafficking via an encrypted chat on the WhatsApp social network.

A criminal network led by accountant Abdulmajid Abu Amra, sold rifles, pistols, stun grenades, tens of thousands of ammunition for hundreds of thousands of shekels in 2021 and 2022.

In the chat, buyers left messages marked “urgent”; or with a request that the weapons be “clean.”

Communication took place using ciphers. One of the clients as "apples" grenades were offered. It is clarified that most of the suspects are residents of Tel Sheva.
