The government of Chad has banned young girls from leaving the country without their parents' permission.
The controversial decision has drawn criticism from women's rights organizations, BBC reports.
Security Minister General Idriss Dokoni Adiker explained this decision by saying that “a migrating stream of young girls” leaves the country “for the purpose of exploitation”.
