Famous Israeli chef Meir Adoni has moved to Cyprus.
According to Ynet, Adoni quietly moved to Paphos, Cyprus two months ago – and not as a temporary measure. .
In the coming months, Adoni is due to open a kosher restaurant in Paphos called Sabbah, where he will serve shawarma and homemade Israeli dishes.
In addition, throughout the year Together with local and Israeli partners, the chef will open a 75-room boutique hotel with a rooftop bar and restaurant. Adoni plans to open a confectionery and bakery this summer, from which he plans to sell his products to hotels all over the island.
“I chose a location that is a 40-minute flight. It's closer than flying to Eilat. There, many business opportunities opened up for me that required my physical presence. There's a crazy culinary vacuum in Cyprus right now,” Chef Adoni said.
According to him, he moved to Cyprus permanently.
“I moved permanently. I'm 50 soon. turning point. I feel younger and more alive than ever. I feel like I have the passion of a 20 year old. Need to know when to hand over the keys and leave. There is a great new generation. I have been to almost every corner of Israel – I have published a cookbook, opened all kinds of restaurants, worked in the media and on television – I have done everything possible, including gourmet meals for the richest people in Israel. I just feel like I did my best, – he explained his move.
