Matthew Crawford, who was considered the fattest man in Britain, died at the age of 37.

He hit the headlines a few years ago when it became known that he weighs 55 stone – more than 340 kilograms. Crawford was 33 at the time.

According to The Mirror, Matthew Crawford was so big that he took up four hospital beds at once. Then a scandal broke out that he allegedly ordered food directly to the hospital. He was eventually discharged from a Nottinghamshire hospital to an adapted facility.

Crawford, according to a friend, joined Slimming World, a weight loss organization, to lose weight.

Last week he died of sepsis and organ failure.
