In the UK, the idea of limiting access to pornography by age has returned.
According to The Guardian, this will affect not only the “profile” sites, but also social networks, primarily Reddit and Twitter, which, unlike Facebook, allow you to post a large amount of explicit material for adults.
Thus, Reddit and Twitter will be faced with a choice: to check age of users or find a way to remove juicy content.
The proposed law would require Internet users in the UK to provide proof of identity (passport, driver's license or credit card) to an age verification provider who will report website with pornography that the viewer is over 18.
Sites that fail to prove they have reliable age verification systems face fines of up to 10% of their income or outright blocking.
