Carbohydrates with destructive force for our brain, says the American neurologist David Perlmutter, from Florida, believes that even “good” carbohydrates such as whole grains, adversely affects the brain.
He calls the mixture of flour and sugar a silent killer of brain and calls on us to return to what our ancestors ate — with more meat and fat.

As he writes in American by Forbes, fats should make up 75 percent of our diet, and carbs only 5 percent. Protein intake should remain the same as now recommended, i.e. about 20 percent.
According to Perlmutter, the human genes that have evolved over thousands of years, used to “deal” with are high in fat and low in carbohydrates. But modern man is doing everything exactly the opposite.
Hence, the scientist believes that all the troubles: “people get a brain disorder and then wonder what miracle drug is no. They want to treat the symptoms and not the cause of the disease. In fact, diet and lifestyle play a huge role in the fate of human health”.

Indeed, studies have shown that a diet high in carbohydrates increases the risk of dementia. At the same time, the elderly in the diet which had a lot of nuts and vegetable oils (“good fats”), 42 per cent less likely to suffer from cognitive impairment. And fans of meat and fish (protein) — 21%.
