Boycott of Russia and Belarus – now in boxing

The boycott of Russia and Belarus is now in boxing

The International Boxing Association (IBA) suspended the representatives of Russia and Belarus from the competition as part of the boycott due to the situation in Ukraine.

According to the IBA, boxers from these countries will be able to participate only as neutral athletes.

“The IBA has approved the IOC recommendation for the participation of boxers and competition officials (including referees and judges) belonging to the national IBA federations of Russia or Belarus. Accordingly, they should not be invited or allowed to participate in boxing competitions,” the message says.

Among other things, international events planned in Russia and Belarus in 2022 have been cancelled.
