Boxers from Russia and Belarus excluded from WBC ratings

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has excluded Russian and Belarusian athletes from the ratings. According to RIA Novosti, the president of the organization, Mauricio Suleiman, confirmed this information. The decision to exclude boxers from the two countries was made at the WBC Congress in Acapulco. Athletes will not be able to fight for championship titles. “The organization will not sanction fights in these two countries. Their citizens will not be able to compete for the WBC title,” Suleiman said. Russian and Belarusian boxers will be able to apply for a review of the decision depending on their ties with the Russian Federation.
