“In the Republic of Uzbekistan, six power units at the Syrdarya TPP were switched off due to a short circuit, with a total loss of generation of more than 1,500 MW. The resulting shortage of power in the power system of Uzbekistan led to unauthorized power take-off from the power system of Kazakhstan, connected to parallel operation with the power systems of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. As a result, there was a “throw” power for transit 500 kV “North-East-South of Kazakhstan” with its subsequent reloading,” the statement said.

It is specified that the energy systems of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan completely went out with the shutdown of all power plants and consumers.
