Billionaire Richard Branson's space company Virgin Galactic has started selling spaceflight tickets since February 16th. This was reported by the press service of the company.

Sending tourists into orbit is planned for the end of this year. At the first stage, 1,000 people are going to be sent into space.

The rockets will launch from America Space Center in New Mexico. Prior to this, tourists will undergo special training. According to the flight itinerary, the journey will last 90 minutes.

As indicated, the cost of the ticket is 450,000 dollars, including a deposit of 150,000. Thus, the company will be able to earn up to $450 million from ticket sales alone.

On this news, Virgin Galactic shares rose by 19.3% on February 15, which is a record high since June 2021, when Branson committed suborbital flight.

We would like to remind you that earlier the company decided to raffle off two free tickets to space. But lottery participants had to meet a number of requirements, including the age of majority and the presence of a document on vaccination against coronavirus.
