 Ben-Gurion University launches program in Russian for repatriates< /p>

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev announced on Sunday the launch of a new program for Russian-speaking immigrants who immigrated to Israel in 2022.

launched in partnership with the Israeli Ministries of Education and Absorption and the Jewish Agency for Israel, will allow Russian speakers to continue their studies immediately and prepare for a possible university entrance.

The program offers 1,000 hours of Hebrew instruction, as well as six academic courses, which will be taken into account when obtaining a bachelor's degree. BSU will offer courses in mathematics, physics, and programming in Russian, as well as an ulpan in Hebrew, and additional support programs such as tours of Israel.

The program is led by Prof. Louise Meshi, a member of the university's Department of Materials Science and advisor to the rector on new immigrants.

“We are happy to open the doors of the Israeli Academy for program participants and help them get higher education”, — Meshi said. “I believe that studying at Ben-Gurion University will help them build a new life here with us in Israel”.
