Basketball: Bulgarian fans shouted “Auschwitz”
Israeli Basketball Club Maccabi Haifa” today won an easy victory over BC “Balkan” (78:92) in the Balkan League, but one incident at the end darkened the atmosphere of the Israeli victory.
At the end of the game, during the handshakes between the players, relations between Danel Kozakhinov and the opponent's player did not work out. The same player was sent off during the game for insulting Kozakhinov, which led to an argument with the referees.
A Balkan player elbowed Kozakhinov at the end of the game and caused a commotion, ending with a supporter of the local team ran out of the stands and punched Kozahinov in the head.
Haifa fans also claim that throughout the game, shouts of “Auschwitz!” and other anti-Semitic cries.
