Avivim prepares houses for possible Hezbollah attacks

The Ministry of Defense has announced the start of work to fortify dozens of houses in Avivim, near the Lebanese border, that could be hit by rocket fire in a possible conflict with Hezbollah. The program was called “Shield of the North”. It officially kicked off last October, when new bomb shelters began to be installed in homes in Kfar Yuval, northeast of Kiryat Shmona. According to the Defense Department, 62 bomb shelters are currently being built in Avivim. The Ministry intends to implement its plan in 21 settlements on the northern border.
