New Associated Press office opens in Gaza

Associated Press senior management opens new news agency office in Gaza.

AP President Daisy Weerasingham and Executive Editor attended the opening, according to The Jerusalem Post. Julie Pace.

“The energetic AP team in Gaza never faltered, even as our office collapsed and in the weeks that followed. We have been working in Gaza for more than half a century and still strive to tell the story of Gaza and its people,” Weerasingham said.

The IDF attacked a 12-story building in Gaza where Israeli military officials said Hamas operated.

The building also housed the bureaus of several publications, including AP and Al Jazeera. The IDF warned the journalists to leave the building an hour before the strike. Later, the IDF gave the US evidence that Hamas was working in this building.
