Assassination attempt on ex-PA minister: Abbas orders investigation

President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas condemned the assassination attempt on the former Palestinian Minister of Education, Nasser al-Din al-Shaer, which took place yesterday. Al-Shaer was also linked to Hamas.
According to The New Arab, Mahmoud Abbas ordered the relevant security officials to launch an immediate investigation into the incident. In addition, the PA leader called the injured ex-minister and wished him well.
Hamas also condemned the incident, calling it an “assassination attempt.”
