Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia has opened the first restaurant serving the same food, and on Board its aircraft. In the next five years the company plans to open another 100 such institutions around the world.
The first fast-food restaurant AirAsia earned in one of the shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur. The institution received the name of Santan, the translation from Malaysian means “coconut milk”. Under the same brand the company serves food in their planes.
All meals in the restaurant cost about three dollars. The menu is the rice it is served with sliced chicken, vegetables, chilli sauce and so on. Drinks – coffee or tea grown in Malaysia. With the help of a network of restaurants AirAsia hopes to attract more foreign customers who do not like eating Western airlines. According to a press release from the company, its management noticed that menus on Board AirAsia enjoys great popularity outside of Asia.
