Armed bank robbery in Georgia: over 10 people held hostage

In the center of the Georgian city of Kutaisi, an armed man seized a branch of the Bank of Georgia. It is reported that he is holding more than 10 hostages.

The attacker demands a ransom of 2 million lari (about $615,000) within three hours and a helicopter. However, he does not specify what will happen if this condition is not met.

“Currently, 12 people remain in the building as hostages. Law enforcement officers are taking all necessary measures for their quick and safe release,” the country’s Interior Ministry said in a statement.
