Archaeologists from the Austrian Academy of Sciences have discovered a business and gastronomic district of the early Byzantine era in Turkish Ephesus. This is reported by Heritage Daily. The center, located on Domitian Square, is adjacent to the political center of the Agora. According to scientists, shops and workshops have been built on a large square complex. One of the buildings that interested archaeologists is a series of commercial premises with an area of ​​approximately 170 square meters. m. This territory was destroyed in 614-615 AD, as evidenced by ancient coins found at this place. In rooms up to 3.4 m high, thousands of pieces of ceramics, whole bowls with seafood and hundreds of copper and several gold coins were found.
