An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 hit the islands of New Zealand

An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 hit New Zealand's Kermadec Islands on Saturday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The earthquake was reported to have occurred at a depth of 152 km.< br />
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center previously estimated the magnitude at 6.6 and the depth at 183 km.
It is also noted that no tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
