Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce platform marketplace, has been officially authorized by the US authorities to establish the Kuiper satellite Internet network.
SpaceNews reports about the approval of Jeff Bezos' company. br /> “The FCC has approved Amazon's plan to deploy and operate 3,236 communications satellites subject to certain conditions, including the adoption of collision avoidance measures in low Earth orbit,” – said in a statement.
The approval from the US authorities will allow Kuiper to begin rolling out its network to provide high-speed Internet connectivity to users around the world.
The regulator as a condition required Amazon to make sure that satellites can be safely put into orbit for use within seven years. The first of them will be sent in the coming months.
