Air blockade: SkyUp plane failed to land in Ukraine

The plane of the Ukrainian airline SkyUp, flying on the route Funchal (Portugal) – Boryspil (Ukraine), could not land at its destination.

According to RBC, citing the airline, the lessor, which is a resident of Ireland, forbade SkyUp to “enter” into the airspace of Ukraine.

“The owner of the plane gave a categorical refusal at a time when the aircraft was already flying to Kiev,” SkyUp said.

The plane had to land at the airport in Chisinau. There were 175 people on board, who will be taken to Ukraine by transfer.
