Large-scale riots erupted in Paris after France and Morocco reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar.
Thousands of fans gathered on the Champs Elysées soon after the match between Morocco and Portugal. Even more fans joined after France's victory over England.
The rioters smashed shop windows and also fought with the police. According to the press, almost 20,000 people gathered on the Champs Elysees, law enforcement officers made 36 arrests.< br />
