Aston Martin relies heavily on its partnerships with the Daimler-Benz Group. The new DB11 has an internal electrical network entirely designed by Mercedes, and the English manufacturer also uses an AMG engine: the 4.0-liter V8 is indeed under the hood of the entry-level version of the DB11, and soon under that of the replacement V8 Vantage.
But that’s not all. According to Drive reporters, Aston Martin would be interested in the new six-cylinder gasoline-powered Mercedes.
This engine has just appeared under the hood of the restyled S-Class and should be under the next CLS, version 53 AMG in a hybrid configuration. For Aston Martin, this engine would obviously reduce the emissions and consumption of some of its models, coexisting with the V8 and V12 brand. To follow, then.
