Afghan Taliban close border with Pakistan

Taliban authorities have closed the main border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan, an Afghan official said on Monday, and local residents reported the sound of gunfire on Monday morning near the normally busy border transit point, Reuters reported.
A spokesman for the provincial Taliban news agency said the Torkham border crossing near the Khyber Pass was closed to all cargo and travelers on Sunday evening.
