 Abraham Grant named coach of Zambian national football team

The 67-year-old Israeli coach was appointed on Thursday as the new coach of the Zambia national football team. He will replace Croatian Alyosha Asanovich, who left the post three months ago.

Grant signed a four-year contract through his agent Nir Karin. The Zambians offered him a long-term contract with the hope that he would lead them to the African Championship and then to a historic performance at the World Cup.

Grant had already coached the African team in the past and led the Ghana team to the final of the African Championship in 2015, where they lost on penalties to Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure. and took a break from coaching for 4 years.
