At least 175,000 Israeli children have not been vaccinated against polio, according to Channel 12, citing the Ministry of Health.
Parents of unvaccinated children are urged to take them to the local medical center.
The announcement comes after the New York State Department of Health urged residents to get polio shots before traveling to Israel, where several children recently tested positive for the virus.
