The assassin of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he mistook his “target”.

According to 41-year-old Yamagami Tetsuya , he intended to kill a certain head of the sect into which his mother was drawn.

“My mother, being drawn into this sect, made a significant donation, as a result of which our lives were ruined,” –

It is noted that during the interrogation, Tetsuya did not name the person whom he originally wanted to kill.

The accused will be sent for a psychiatric examination.
