President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas criticized the “double standards of the West”, which, in his words, “punishes” Russia for the invasion of Ukraine, but ignores “Israel's crimes against the Palestinians”.
He stated this during the visit of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Haruts Sheva reports.
"Current events in Europe have demonstrated blatant double standards. Despite the crimes of the Israeli occupation, which amounted to ethnic cleansing and racial discrimination… we do not find anyone who would hold Israel accountable,” Abbas said.
In turn, Blinken said he wanted to revive US relations with the PA and promised to support the Palestinians.
“The United States is committed to rebuilding our relationship with the PA and with the Palestinian people,” the US Secretary of State said.
