A string of mysterious deaths: another IRGC officer killed

In the Syrian region of Aleppo, a senior officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Brigadier General Abolfazal Alijani, was killed.

Alijani was a “military adviser” from the city of Isfahan; the circumstances of his death have not yet been clarified. This is reported by the Jerusalem Post.

Iranian authorities have said that Alijani was a high-ranking officer of the IRGC. According to KAN, his funeral will take place in the coming days.

Alijani's death is one of the latest in a string of mysterious deaths among IRGC members.

Last month, Iranian media reported on Iran accused Israel of killing five IRGC officers in June. Iran suspects that Ayub Antazari, an aeronautical engineer, and Kamran Agmolai, a geologist, were poisoned by Israel. A few days later, two officers, Mohammad Abdus, were declared dead and Ali Kamani, who were involved in the development of weapons for Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The IRGC then stated that Ali Kamani died “as a result of a traffic accident” during an operation in the city of Homein. On the death of Mohammad Abdus, the Iranian Ministry of Defense stated that he died “during the mission”.

At the moment, Iran has not blamed anyone for the death of another IRGC officer.
