Glacier collapses in the Alps: the number of missing people has increased

In the Italian Alps, a part of the large Marmolada glacier separated, which led to the death and disappearance of tourists.

It is known that as a result of the incident 6 people were killed.

According to Ansa, 16 tourists are missing. Among the missing are citizens of Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy and Romania. A search and rescue operation is underway.

The cause of the glacier's collapse could be an increased temperature – 10 degrees Celsius. Part of the glacier that separated was moving at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour, so tourists simply did not have a chance to leave the mountain.
