 A bulk carrier ran aground in the Suez Canal

On Monday, Jan. 9, the cargo ship M/V Glory ran aground in the Suez Canal while heading south near El Kantara.

Tugboats are trying to refloat it, according to Reuters.

The cargo ship sailed under the flag of the Marshall Islands. Work to rescue the ship is ongoing.

In a comment to Al-Arabiya, the chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Usama Rabi, assured that the ship's grounding would not affect traffic.
