 NIS 500,000 compensation to relatives of victims of the Meron tragedy

Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Justice Minister Gideon Saar have agreed on a scheme to help 45 families of victims of the Mount Meron tragedy.

According to the proposed plan to be presented for government approval, each family will be given an initial compensation of NIS 500,000.

The scheme was formulated by the director general of the Ministry of Justice, lawyer Eran Davidi, with the approval of the chief accountant and legal entities of the two government ministries.< br />
Saar said that “the huge loss of families is not compensable” but added that “the scheme we put on the Cabinet table today provides immediate relief in a way that makes life as easy as possible for families.” .
