31 new species of wild orchids have been opened in China

Chinese researchers have discovered 31 new species of wild orchids in various regions of the country.

In order to strengthen the protection of rare plants and create a scientific management and monitoring system, a special research project was launched in China in 2018 aimed at protecting the country's wild orchids.

To date, 31 new species have been discovered within the framework of the project. orchids and 12 species of orchids registered for the first time in China. Wild orchid species and distribution were investigated in 16 regions, including Yunnan Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region.
