Putin tried to imagine the meeting in Helsinki with the President of the United States Donald trump as a victory
Russian President Vladimir Putin commits the same mistake: he believes that world politics works the same way as the internal political system of Russia.
About this in his article for ZN.ua writes presidential adviser Volodymyr Horbulin.
According to him, despite the fact that Putin tried to imagine the meeting in Helsinki with the President of the United States Donald trump as a victory, their real target are not achieved.
“Indirect evidence suggests that the present macrocell Putin to turn this summit into a kind of “Helsinki-2″, that is, to consolidate between the two countries a new concept of world order — not just not achieved, it did not even raised. This tragedy did not happen”, – said said.
This was mainly due to the fact that Putin does not understand how world politics works.
“The Russian President still thinks in terms of interpersonal agreements… And this error about extrapolation he performs regularly throughout his reign. The desire to put “the right person” sums it with the same regularity as the underestimation of opponents: the rate for the previous Ukrainian President, bet on the leaders of the European radicals, bet on trump — the whole concept of “agents”, imparted to him by the KGB, leaves it,” – said the expert.
Gorbulin believes that Putin’s meeting with trump was the last attempt of the Kremlin to find a way out of the situation in relations with the West.
“The summit in Helsinki should not be seen as the final long-term operation of “getting up off its knees” (in which Russia and the United States allegedly crossed the geopolitical to the bilateral format of relations), but rather as a last attempt of Putin to save the situation — using direct contact with trump find a way out of a blind corner, which abuts Russia stronger (in terms of us-Russian relations)”, – he concluded.
As previously reported by the portal “Znayu” in 2014 Russia refused “liberation” of the South-East of Ukraine and thereby made a huge “strategic mistake”.
