The organizers of the prestigious literary man Booker prize announced the winner of the award Golden Booker. Best book of the last 50 years was recognized by the novel the English patient by canadian writer Michael Ondaatje, informs Rus.Media.

Except for the novel Ondaatje, in the short-list, Golden Booker was still four novels: Wolf hall, Hilary Mantel (winner 2009), In a free state of Vidyadhara Napola (1971), Moon tiger”, Penelope lively (1987) and Lincoln in the Bardo of George Saunders (2017).

Five nominees were selected from among all 52 previous winners of the Booker, whose works were written in English and published in Britain and Ireland. Voting for the winner was held June 25 on the website of the award.
