The automaker is counting on the termination of the proceedings after payment of penalty.

Carmaker Volkswagen will pay a fine in the sum of 1 billion euros due to the manipulation of the company connected with emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere by vehicles with diesel engines, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

Prosecutors in the German city of Braunschweig, which was investigating the “diesel scandal”, reported that the company has produced 10 million vehicles with “impermissible arrangements”, thereby violating the rules of inspection of vehicles.

The company agreed with the violation and stated that it would pay the penalty, “thereby acknowledging their responsibility.” The automaker is counting on the termination of the proceedings after payment of penalty.
