The airport is growing rapidly.
Airports Council international ACI Europe made a new ranking of the airports in the world. Assessed work in the first quarter of 2018. In the category of airports which annually serves between 10 and 25 million passengers, entered the main airport of Ukraine, Boryspil, reports Rus.Media.
For the period Borispol managed to increase the amount of passengers more than 15%. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian record holder airline was competing in ranking with the airports of Ankara, tel Aviv, Budapest and Izmir. The highest growth among them in Ankara airport is 41.3%. According to the results of the corresponding rating in March, Boryspil and all were in the top three on a par with the leaders of the rating, showing an increase in the amount of 21.1 per cent. In addition, ACI Europe believes that the Ukrainian airport the fastest in terms of growth of passenger traffic in Europe.
Describing the overall picture of air traffic in the European airports, it is worth noting that the increase in passengers has been established at the level of 7.6%.
Boryspil was established on 22 June 1959 on the basis of a military airfield. Today it has grown and has six terminals. Terminal F, which was previously adopted Charter flights, currently closed and awaiting reconstruction under the load. The key, as before there are 4 terminals, oriented to the domestic and international flights.
Comparing the capabilities of the airport Borispol in different years, it is worth noting that in 1995 the passengers was little more than 1300, while in 2017 their number exceeded 10 thousand. Only in the period from 2016 to 2017, passenger traffic increased by almost 2 thousand people. Today, through the Ukrainian hub the flights are carried out at dozens of resorts in the world.
