The situation in the East of the country (map ATO) as of 12:00 19 April 2015, according to the NSDC of Ukraine
The situation in the zone of the antiterrorist operation remains tense, but controlled by Ukrainian troops. Over the past day militants 50 times violated the ceasefire regime along the line of demarcation. In particular, more than a third of provocations took place with the use of weapons banned by the Minsk agreements, namely the 120-mm mortars and 122-mm cannon artillery. Three militants also used tanks. This information was announced today at the daily briefing at ucmc, the speaker of the headquarters of the Antiterrorist operation Colonel Andrei Lysenko.
The hottest points of contention were:
on the Mariupol direction – the village SHIROKANE and Talakovka.
– at the direction of Donetsk – the Donetsk airport, namely the settlements of Pisky, opytne, Avdiivka and the area of the mine Putilov, and the outskirts of Gorlovka.
– on the Lugansk direction – positions of forces ATO near the village of Trehizbenka.
It should be noted that the enemy was concentrating the blows of armored vehicles in some areas of the demarcation line. Thus, all three tank strike fighters fell on the Sand.
In the area of Trehizbenka militants attempted to storm Ukrainian reference point. The Ukrainian military bravely defended their positions and repulsed the attack. The enemy suffered losses and was forced to retreat.
Also yesterday, gunmen violated the ceasefire in the area of Shirokino with artillery, mortars and small arms. At this time in the village were international observers from the OSCE. Recall that the Ukrainian side together with the monitoring mission proposed demilitarize Shirokino with a full ceasefire and withdrawal of weapons. However, the militants continue to defy international law, and carried out provocations that demonstrates their commitment to further combat operations.
At the same time, the militants carried out active air reconnaissance. Ukrainian border guards have recorded 4 flights of enemy UAVs.
Over the past day in the fighting killed among the Ukrainian military no, four – were injured. Three of them are injured in a collision at Trekhizbenka.
Ukrainian operatives once again warn militants ‘ attempts to obtain additional funds for their crimes.
The security service of Ukraine jointly with the State fiscal service detained more than 100 wagons with scrap metal and coal, which according to fictitious documents was planned to move outside the temporarily occupied territory available for sale. Funds from sales of the militants had planned to attract financing of their gangs.
In addition, the Ukrainian law enforcers, Donetsk region continue to seize illegal weapons.
At one of the checkpoints near Mariupol traffic police stopped the car, where they found a gun and box of ammunition. Three people who were in the car began to behave aggressively, trying to snatch from the hands of a policeman a weapon.
But our police officers quickly calmed offenders. The vehicle was seized sealed zinc box of ammunition 7.62 mm, two packs of cartridges for a Makarov pistol, two loaded magazines of bullets of 7.62 mm and scattered cartridges of caliber 5.45 mm. Recall that a month of voluntary delivery of the weapon will last until April 30. Citizens who voluntarily surrender illegal weapons, are exempt from criminal liability.
