10 people covered by an avalanche in an Austrian ski resort

10 people were buried under an avalanche in the Lech/Zürs free ski area in western Austria on Sunday, the Austrian Press Agency (APA) reported, adding that one person was rescued.
The avalanche came down around 15:00. Soon after, several helicopters and search parties arrived at the scene.
About 100 people were involved in the search, the rescuers requested headlamps to continue the search at night.
Lekh/Zürs bills itself as “one of the best ski resorts in the world” and the cradle of Austrian skiing.
The resort's website states that the ski area was closed from 5:00 pm on Sunday and that skiing information will be available at 8:00 am on Monday.
