$1.6 million gold coins stolen from German museum< /p>

Thieves have stolen over $1.6 million worth of rare gold coins from a German museum. This is reported by the Bavaria police. According to law enforcement officers, the theft was completed in nine minutes. These coins were discovered during an archaeological dig in 1999 near Manching. Their find was considered the largest discovery of Celtic gold in the 20th century. They date back to 100 BC. Experts fear that due to the difficulty of selling coins, thieves will melt them down and sell them at the price of gold – approximately 250,000 euros.
